"NR012
1988-1993 was the pinnacle of Swedish death metal - period!!. So many great bands came from a few small regions in a country the size of California. Lemlästad och Begraven compilation showcases 13 current bands who, for this release, worship at the altar of HM-2 savagery. Featuring:
Soul Devourment
Wharflurch
Thorn
Absconder
Putrid Tomb
Celestial Sanctuary
The Slimelord
Foul Decay
For The Pyres
Guilty View
Fumes
Coagulate
Hollowed Body
As with all Handwrought releases, much sweat and love went into compiling this monster. Pro made cassettes house in a crystal clear DVD style case. Two sided cover and accordian fold insert with no less than 10 separate silver and orange screen prints. Not only does it look cool, this fucker will blow your face off with just under an hour of ferocious Swedish DM covers..."
lyrics
What once was dreams came true
The gift of immortality
A punishment I learned
Time won't take its toll on me
I walk the endless path
Cursed to be the last
The horrid truth, eternal youth
Life's not even worth the salt in my tears
The sentinel won't let me in
Living was my darkest sin
Dust to dust, no last relief
Alone I have to bear the grief
Days turn to twilight
My bones are chilled by the breeze
Hacking my body, tearing my flesh
Wishing my heartbeats to seize
As I cut the last vein open
So that finally my life will run out
I understand that the pain will be eternal
As my severed body rots in the sun
Spilling bowels on the ground
Still in flesh my soul is bound
A living corpse, what's left of me
To lie here bleeding for eternity

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
